« After thirteen years of creating songs with a message reflecting the decline of modern civilization, the state of the world has only gotten worse and The Van Allen are back to tell you all about it. The opening tracks of each side, which are parody in name only, offer sharp contrast to the idealism of 1969. Fifty years later, we still haven't given peace a chance, but can we? The Van Allen Belt have always presented politics with skeptical observation in the tradition of Roger Waters and Frank Zappa, rather than the optimistically naive songs of protest that showered the flower power scene. The project was founded in the first place under the premise that there weren't nearly enough honest songs on the radio. The latest effort also marks an expansion in diversity in both performance and recording method. Recorded in Pittsburgh, Zurich, Lisbon and Paris; it is an eclectic ensemble piece.
